Yountville Harvest
Stephen Sanfilippo comes from a family of talented artists. He has pursued drawing and painting throughout his lifetime, including a successful 15-year career in advertising. In 1999, Mr. Sanfilippo inherited his grandmother's art supplies, prompting to him to being painting en plein air, leading to his transition to full-time oil painter. He is a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, Alamo-Danville Artists' Society, and Frank Bette Center for Arts.
Mr. Sanfilippo paints landscapes and seascapes, discreetly capturing detail without denying viewers the journey to use their imagination. His subjects are typically in hard-to-reach trails and coastlines, so the resulting works are rare studies of hidden vistas. "Painting on location is what fuels my ability to preserve authentic, yet spontaneous landscapes, seascapes, and arhitectural interests," says Mr. Sanfilippo.
